PROFUSE CAPITAL (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle personal data in line with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) of Hong Kong.

1. Who we are

2. What we collect

We collect only what you choose to give us or what your browser sends automatically.

  • Information you submit. When you use our contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address, company, subject, message, and any pitch deck, file or link you share.
  • Technical data. Like most websites, our hosting provider may log your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited and the time of your visit, for security and basic operation.
  • Correspondence. If you write to us, we keep your messages and our replies.

We do not ask for sensitive personal data such as identity-card numbers, financial account details or health information. Please do not include them in your message or deck.

3. Why we use it

We use your personal data to:

  • read, route and reply to your enquiry or pitch;
  • evaluate a potential investment and, where relevant, follow up with you;
  • keep the website secure and working properly;
  • meet legal, regulatory and compliance obligations; and
  • keep records of our dealings with founders and other contacts.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for direct marketing unless you have agreed to that.

4. Who we share it with

Submissions are read by our investment team and the people who support them. We may also share personal data with:

  • service providers that run our website, email and file storage, who may only use the data to provide services to us;
  • professional advisers such as lawyers, auditors and accountants, under a duty of confidentiality; and
  • courts, regulators or law enforcement, where the law requires or permits it.

If we want to share your pitch materials with a co-investor or an outside adviser to evaluate your company, we will ask you first.

5. Transfers outside Hong Kong

Our service providers may store or process data on servers in other countries. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to make sure your data is protected to a standard comparable to Hong Kong law.

6. How long we keep it

We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purposes above. As a general rule, enquiries and pitches that do not lead to a discussion are deleted or anonymised within 24 months; records of investments and related correspondence are kept for as long as the investment lasts and as required by law afterwards.

7. How we protect it

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures, including access controls and encrypted connections, to guard personal data against unauthorised access, loss or misuse. No internet transmission is completely secure, so please send only what you are comfortable sharing.

8. Cookies

This website uses only the cookies and similar technologies that are strictly needed for it to work. We do not use advertising cookies. If we add analytics tools in future, we will update this section and, where required, ask for your consent.

9. Your rights

Under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance you may ask us to:

  • confirm whether we hold personal data about you and give you a copy; and
  • correct personal data that is inaccurate.

You may also ask us to stop using your data for direct marketing, and you may withdraw your consent where we rely on it. To make a request, email profus@hush.com. We will reply within 40 days, as the Ordinance requires, and may charge a reasonable fee for a copy as the law allows. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data, Hong Kong.

10. Links to other sites

This website may link to third-party sites, such as LinkedIn. We do not control them and are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please read their policies.

11. Children

This website is intended for founders, investors and other professionals. It is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the “Last updated” date above.
